NextVolt™ CEO Manish Kumar is an energy industry veteran with 20+ years’ experience in renewable energy, natural gas, and electricity.
Prior to NextVolt™, Manish was Managing Director, Energy Storage at The AES Corporation where he led development and commercial for standalone utility scale battery energy storage. In this capacity, he led a development pipeline of 2.0GW+ and won/contracted ~500MW (2000MWh) of 20-year tolling PPAs in the US, leading all aspects of the development lifecycle from siting, permitting, contract negotiations, finance, and construction. He brings deep techno-commercial insights and expertise to NextVolt.
Before joining AES, Manish spent over 12 years with WGL Energy, initially in retail electricity & natural gas and later leading strategy for distributed solar and natural gas based distributed generation.
He holds an Engineering Degree in Electronics from the University of Mumbai and an MBA from Columbia Business School.
